In our initial meeting we will go over the legalities and fill out all the required paperwork including the notice of intended marriage (NOIM) which must be completed a minimum of 1 calendar month and a maximum of 18 months before your ceremony.
Please bring the following documents:
If you were born in Australia, an original birth certificate or current passport.
If you were born overseas an current overseas passport is acceptable.
If you were previously married, an original of either a death certificate or divorce papers. It is helpful if you can bring your previous marriage certificate.
Commitment ceremonies are essentially weddings without the legalities. There are many reasons why loving, committed, couples either choose not to, or are unable to marry.
The process of creating a commitment ceremony is much like that of a wedding – minus the Monitum (the celebrants legal words). These ceremonies, which allow people to express their love no matter what their situation may be.
